With a touch of humor, the minister added that Kazakhstan is looking forward to players of Pelé’s caliber.

His Brazilian counterpart, Mauro Vieira, acknowledged that he was surprised to learn how many Brazilians are playing in the Kazakh league.

“This is excellent. I wasn’t aware it was such an important matter. It’s safe to say that footballers are a significant export item to Kazakhstan,” Vieira stated.

The Brazilian foreign minister further noted that strengthening sports ties will help enhance bilateral relations. In addition to football, the two nations are discussing cooperation in other sports, including Brazilian jiu-jitsu.

This year marks the 33rd anniversary of diplomatic relations between Brazil and Kazakhstan.
